Hello Loved Ones,
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and now looking forward to Hanukkah and Christmas. I was reading this morning in 2 Kings 18:13 – 19:37. The scriptures were describing Hezekiah’s relationship with the Lord. The Bible said, that he was a strong King over Israel. He abolished idolatry and refused to obey the king of Assyria. The Bible uncovers a fascinating discovery when the Bible describes Hezekiah as holding on to Yahweh and did not waver in following Him. But then, as you read on, we find that Hezekiah didn’t possess fortitude. In other words, he compromised.
How many of us today are following in the footsteps of Hezekiah? On the one hand, we delight ourselves in serving God, but when the pressure is on, we give in and sometimes lose our relationship with God. Trusting in God is always preferred over giving in to our fears. There will be many decisions that have to be made in the following weeks before the new year arrives. My prayer is that we will take the time and ask ourselves what is God saying to me at this moment? Let’s not be like Hezekiah, give away the farm, and lose our relationship with God.
